Take this time to recharge and restore yourself. Enjoy the kayaks or canoes, go for a hike, jump in the lake, or lay in the hammocks on this beautiful property. The retreat includes accommodation, delicious meals, an infrared sauna session, use of Shanti’s amenities, morning meditation, yoga and pilates sessions and evening restorative yoga with David. Being a “newbie” to yoga, I was intimidated that it would be too advanced for me...Well, I was completely wrong in my thinking. Many of us were beginners and at no point did I feel less than. David is an amazing teacher with patience, experience and a great sense of humour! ....The other part of the retreat is Laura’s heart spark session. It is truly life changing and inspirational. It’s a time to let go and think about what you really desire and want out of life. It’s an incredible journey you’ll take in just one week but introduce them into your life for good....It truly is a magical place with great energy and amazing people. I can’t believe that I almost didn’t go because of insecurities and financial guilt. Free yourself of these thoughts and treat yourself to a week that you’ll never forget!
I loved the step by step approach David took to explain the proper positioning for the yoga postures. Even though I do yoga regularly it certainly helped me. His soft spoken manner, sense of humor and smile made him a perfect person to lead us. The Heart Spark was an eye opener for me as how to take even better care of myself and therefore everyone around me benefits from the "better, happier, more positive me". It has only been 3 days but I have been smiling more, nagging less, [and] thinking positively....I have even set up my own little space for morning routine complete with a salt (candle) lamp, a little Buddha, a positive saying displayed and a healing stone. All in all, I am so happy that I had the opportunity to spend a week at such an inspiring retreat in a beautiful country and gorgeous resort.
Soul Inspired. That's a perfect explanation of how I feel after spending a week in Costa Rica with Laura Foster and our Yoga instructor, David Good. It was such a great experience for both experienced Yogis and those that are beginners. Very few of us knew each other, but by the end of the week some new friendships were being formed. Each morning we leisurely gathered around the pool, to sip coffee or tea, chat, laugh and connect with each other. Then we headed off to learn how to effectively meditate then do some yoga. David was very patient as he taught us, and even had us smiling as we learned. In the middle of the day we were able do as we liked. Some tried surfing, some did zip lining, and others relaxed by the pool or went to the beach, just a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride.... As you can tell, I am so very glad that I made the decision to go. If you are even considering doing this retreat, I would tell you to do it. You won't regret it.
I have to say that this retreat week was the best thing I have ever done for myself. To spend a week focusing only on my needs was incredible. First of all the location was amazing. The yoga studios were amazing, especially the outdoor space in the morning and evening, listening to all of the birds, the monkeys and looking out over the treetops. I found Davids classes were a mix of everything, which was great. Whether you are new to yoga or not, there was something for everyone and each class was different than the class before…This retreat combines self-care, camaraderie, personal growth with a small amount of challenge. And fun and great food! Thanks Laura and David for an awesome week!
